We're there again. Each year I end up baffled that the year's end is approaching and there are still so many unfinished projects...
That last year flew by fast. The 42nd. This strangely reminds me of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I guess I've reached the answer, without knowing the question too. Took me less than 7,5 Million years though.
Well either time's speeding up - which I will furiously deny at any cost - or I'm growing old - which I will also furiously deny...
Hmmm... Perhaps focus and time management will do? That's so old-school. But becoming a necessity too.
What's the excuse for this year - or so far every year - then?
There's the family, friends, the job, the house and garden and there's the projects. The hobby. There's no point thinking about aging. I am modelling sci-fi stuff after all. I keep doing RPG stuff. Writing fiction. Modding computer games. Playing with the kids on the living room carpet and building sand castles for them on Sweden's or Germany's beautiful Baltic beaches...
So the point is: you can't grow much older or even old with young children rummaging through the house. May there be times when time's running out, there's always a time to cherish and to refocus on what's really important in one's life. The holyday season is probably one number one such time.
So for all of you, who happen to read these lines: I wish you a very happy (traditional or deviant) holiday season or "Adventszeit" as we say around here.
Cheers, Mirco.

Star Wars models for DAZ
Images of available Star Wars models for your 3D rendering. Note that these are not downloads but, where possible, download links will be on the pages. Some are hi-res characters and clothing for G8 and G3 models, some are simple objects such as vehicles. I'm hoping this will be a fairly exhaustive look at both free and premium models available for Star Wars fans.

Just an update...
Back into modeling with Blender. No Traveller stuff for the time being, but I'm still elbow deep into Sci-Fi. The image below was created in Blender 3, utilizing the very nice 42 Isis Mining Complex by SolCommand. I added a simple set of asteroid shapes scattered randomly around a generated planet, modified and textured the station and threw a few of my other models into the scene. The small ship in the foreground is a RiftRoamers RPG - Type SMH Wolf Class bounty hunter vessel (actually a modified Type S Greyhound Class Courier ship), modeled by me approaching said station. There are other ships in the scene, of which only the Type FXH Macbeth Class mega-freighter on the far right is really visible, with its more than 3.5 km long hull and 8 huge space station supply tank-silos loaded, it is nicely noticable even from afar. The image has been rendered in EEVEE @ 5520x1080 resolution, to fit across three displays, which took my box about 30 Seconds (it's an old machine). Well, I
It's almost...
Well I wanted to call this journal entry "It's almost autumn again..." so badly... but I didn't even manage to get it done until the next season was around the corner. So what am I up to at times like these?
RL is taking it's toll. I used to be used to train my coworkers but I seem to need more and more time to assemble training lessons and memorize the contents. It seems this could be related to aging. I still feel the urge to ferociously argue against such helpful suggestions, but there is a side line to that. It could be true...
Pushing that thought aside for a while. I plan to steer my three dimensional ventures into a more productive o
It's almost summer again....
Hi there
I feel the need to apologise for not being present on DA very much lately. RL took it's toll in multiple facettes that strained my schedule, health and creativity in many ways. I don't want to elaborate that to the max, but it may suffice to state that the passing away of two close family members kept me from doing a lot of things I usually enjoy very much.
I'm not yet up to going full steam ahead and it might even take much longer still. I even missed a super interesting opportunity for a Traveller related job offer by not realising that an email account I had abandoned about a year ago was still listed on http://travellerrpg.com.
Summertime
Approaching the completion of the modeling stage for the Empress Marava / Garu Class Far Trader (above), I'm also aproaching the beginning of my summer vacation. So comments, replys, posts, art and WIP's will be less frequent for about three weeks.
Of course we're living in a modern world and I will be able to visit DA infrequently to have a look via smartphone.
So I hope you all enjoy a nice summer, have a chance to find recreation and rest and top up your biological batteries for the second half of the year.
Thanks so much for all the encouragement and support so far. :)
I'll be back.
